Privacy & trust

Your data never leaves your control

Jellystack was built privacy-first from the ground up. There's no developer cloud to route your media through, no analytics learning your habits, and no tracking. It's just you, your servers, and your media.

No ads, ever

Zero ad SDKs. No banner, no interstitials, no sponsored content.

No analytics or tracking

Nothing phones home. No telemetry, no automatic log uploads, no fingerprinting.

No developer cloud

Your traffic goes straight to your own Jellyfin & Seerr servers. We never proxy it.

Minimal permissions

READ_PHONE_STATE and broad storage removed. Every remaining permission is explained in-app.

Protected credentials

Tokens live in the platform-protected credential store — not in plain prefs.

Optional biometric lock

Require fingerprint or face unlock to open the app.

FAQ

Questions, answered

What is Jellystack exactly?

Jellystack is an open-source client app for Jellyfin (a self-hosted media server) and Seerr (a request manager). You run those servers yourself; Jellystack is the beautiful native app you use to browse and play your media on Android.

Does Jellystack include or provide any media?

No. Jellystack does not provide, host, or stream any media. It only connects to servers that you own and control. You must have the legal right to any content you access through it.

Is Jellystack affiliated with Jellyfin or Seerr?

No. Jellystack is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Jellyfin or Seerr. It's licensed under GPL-3.0.

Which platforms are supported?

Android phones and tablets are available on Google Play. Android TV and Google TV are available through a closed beta. Run /beta in the Jellystack Discord to request access, then use the Google Play opt-in link after approval. Existing beta registrations remain active. iPhone and iPad support is planned for later.

Do I need an account or to pay?

No account with us, and no payment — Jellystack is free and open source. You only need your own Jellyfin (and optionally Seerr) server credentials.

How do I connect to my server?

Open Settings → Connections and add your Jellyfin server. You can sign in with a six-digit Quick Connect code from your Jellyfin dashboard, or with username and password. Seerr can be auto-linked when supported.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. There's no analytics, tracking, or developer cloud. Your requests go directly to your own servers. Credentials are stored in the Android protected credential store.
